Overview
Own patient access and front-office operations for the Newark Primary Care office at Nemours. You manage the full visit cycle from check-in to check-out, ensuring accurate registration, payment collection, and patient communication. What You'll Do10
- 1Greet patients and families using the AIDET protocol, ensuring clear communication at every interaction.
- 2Prepare for scheduled visits by making confirmation calls via Televox and updating status to 'confirmed'.
- 3Verify referrals and authorizations, collecting and faxing hard copy referrals to the PRAG department within 24 hours.
- 4Confirm demographics, patient ID, guardianship, and consent forms while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- 5Scan insurance cards, collect copays and past due balances, and post payments accurately.
- 6Schedule follow-up appointments using iGuide to check insurance participation.
- 7Facilitate MyNemours sign-ups and activation for patients and families.
- 8Communicate waiting room status to clinical staff and patients, especially after 10 minutes, to manage expectations.
- 9Reconcile cash collections and prepare End of Day (EOD) reports, including DCRF and LDCRS.
- 10Process work queues daily, demonstrating proficiency with EPIC for scheduling, cancellations, order entry, and linking referrals.
Requirements7
- 1High school diploma or equivalent.
- 23-6 months of job-related experience in a healthcare or customer service setting.
- 3Computer and typing skills, with proficiency in EPIC preferred.
- 4Clerical experience in a physician's office preferred.
- 5Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and families.
- 6Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus.
- 7Ability to work onsite in Newark, NY and maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
