Completes scheduling and pre-registration functions while creating first impression for patients and families. Articulates information clearly to ensure understanding of financial responsibilities. Assumes clinical and financial risk during patient information collection.
What You'll Do9
- 1Conducts scheduling and preregistration functions while validating patient demographic data
- 2Identifies and verifies medical benefits including accurate plan codes and COB orders
- 3Obtains insurance information through payor contacts using telephone or online verification systems
- 4Provides documentation and follow-up regarding authorization and referral deficiencies
- 5Identifies patient financial responsibilities and calculates estimates for collections
- 6Delivers positive patient experiences through effective communication with families and providers
- 7Maintains productivity standards and recommends innovative approaches for performance improvement
- 8Adheres to AHN policies and completes mandatory training sessions
- 9Performs additional duties as assigned or required
Requirements5
- 1Minimum high school diploma or GED or one to three months related experience
- 2One previous year of related experience preferred in medical financial settings
- 3Experience operating personal computers and using software applications
- 4Preferred knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes
- 5Call/service center experience
