Overview

Own the patient access journey for the AHN Breast Imaging Center, handling scheduling, pre-registration, and financial clearance for a high-volume oncology and imaging practice. You will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring they understand their insurance benefits and financial obligations. What You'll Do8

  • 1Schedule breast imaging appointments and complete pre-registration, validating patient demographics and insurance details to ensure timely claim submission.
  • 2Verify insurance benefits by contacting payors via phone or online portals, identifying authorization and referral requirements for breast imaging services.
  • 3Document and communicate authorization deficiencies to physician offices and case management, following up until resolved.
  • 4Calculate patient financial liabilities, including co-pays and deductibles, collecting payments and posting transactions in the ADT system with daily reconciliation.
  • 5Escalate complex self-pay cases to Financial Counselors, ensuring appropriate account management.
  • 6Deliver a positive patient experience by explaining procedures, costs, and payment options in a clear and empathetic manner.
  • 7Meet productivity standards while maintaining accuracy, suggesting process improvements to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • 8Complete mandatory training and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies to protect patient information.

Requirements8

  • 1High School diploma or GED
  • 2Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • 3Proficiency in operating a PC and using software applications
  • 41+ year experience in healthcare revenue cycle, preferably in financial clearance
  • 5Experience in a call center or patient access environment
  • 6Ability to articulate complex insurance and financial information clearly
  • 7Knowledge of HIPAA privacy regulations
  • 8Associate's degree preferred
