Pathology Lab Assistant Histology
Overview
Lead receipt processing distribution of clinical specimens supporting mass general brigham pathology lab. This role focuses on operational efficiency within a high‑volume diagnostic environment.
What You'll Do8
- 1Receive label and distribute clinical specimens including blood urine and tissue samples
- 2Verify patient information accession samples into the laboratory information system and prepare samples for testing
- 3Monitor inventory of laboratory supplies reagents and equipment
- 4Follow established procedures for specimen handling storage and disposal
- 5Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory area
- 6Adhere to safety and quality standards including use of personal protective equipment proper disposal of hazardous materials and laboratory accreditation requirements
- 7Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare providers to ensure timely accurate specimen processing
- 8Perform other related duties as assigned by laboratory management
Requirements8
- 1Associates Degree in a related field or equivalent high school diploma required
- 21-2 years laboratory or healthcare experience preferred
- 3Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and terminology
- 4Ability to follow procedures with attention to detail and accuracy
- 5Strong communication and teamwork skills
- 6Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency
- 7Physical ability to lift 35lbs+ with assisted device and carry 20lbs-35lbs
- 8Stand frequently 34-66% walk frequently 34-66% sit occasionally 3-33%
