Parts Manager, Fleet Maintenance & Inventory Control
Overview
Own shop-level parts operations and inventory accuracy for safe, on-time maintenance execution. You will manage availability, min/max levels, and cost through hands-on parts handling in a busy shop environment. Partner with mechanics and shop leadership to ensure smooth, compliant parts processes. This role stands out with direct hands-on control of parts flow and a focus on waste reduction and compliance.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build and maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and audits
- 2Ensure parts availability by managing min and max levels while reducing emergency purchases
- 3Analyze usage data to cut waste and unnecessary spend
- 4Audit vendor shipments, invoices, and pricing discrepancies
- 5Perform hands-on parts handling including receiving, stocking, organizing and lifting materials
- 6Execute purchasing, receiving, issuing and returns in line with SOPs
- 7Support mechanics by resolving parts issues and maintaining organized storage areas
- 8Provide guidance and training to Parts Coordinators and new team members
- 9Collaborate with shop leadership to streamline parts processes across the facility
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2Experience in fleet maintenance, transportation or equipment repair environments
- 3Hands-on experience managing parts inventory in a shop or warehouse
- 4Strong operational judgment and ability to interpret usage data
- 5Experience using inventory or maintenance systems to track parts and transactions
- 6Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance
- 7Ability to safely perform physical work including lifting up to 50 pounds
- 8Forklift or material-handling equipment experience (preferred)
- 9A two-year degree (preferred)
