You will own the parts ordering and expediting process across the service department and external customers, ensuring work orders are completed on schedule. What You'll Do8
- 1Provide quotes and process orders for Caterpillar and allied vendors to support all shop operations.
- 2Order parts within a timely manner to complete work orders, coordinating with the service department.
- 3Support Product Support Field Sales, Inside Sales, Machine Sales, and Service teams.
- 4Communicate status of back-ordered parts to supervisor, service manager, and service coordinator.
- 5Advise customers on substitution when replacement parts are not available.
- 6Maintain accurate customer and equipment information in the CRM.
- 7Keep customers informed of new parts, services, and dealer merchandising programs.
- 8Maintain an orderly hold area, verifying all parts received meet the repair schedule.
Requirements8
- 13+ years related experience in parts or heavy equipment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2High school diploma or equivalent; Medium/Heavy Truck Parts Specialist Certification preferred.
- 3Comprehensive understanding of Cat parts delivery process and company policies.
- 4Thorough knowledge of truck applications and parts.
- 5Motivated self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- 6Analytical abilities in interpreting pricing, schedule, and delivery requirements.
- 7Excellent decision-making and interpersonal skills under time-sensitive deadlines.
- 8Above-average communication skills and mechanical aptitude.
