Paraprofessional, Special Education Support & Classroom Assist
Overview
Supports students with diverse needs in a classroom setting within Levittown PA. Owns one on one tutoring, classroom management, and collaboration with teachers and families to enable positive learning experiences. This role works across multiple educational settings, assists with augmentative devices and daily living tasks, and participates in IEP/CER processes.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build individualized support plans and provide one on one tutoring as scheduled
- 2Assist with classroom management and organize instructional materials to maximize learning
- 3Act as a liaison between teachers IU and district staff to address student needs
- 4Support parental involvement activities and family engagement
- 5Escort and supervise students across educational settings and transport as trained
- 6Assist students with augmentative communication devices and equipment
- 7Assist a student to ambulate position and transfer safely
- 8Advocate for students with Autism Spectrum support behavior management physical and learning needs
- 9Support students with activities of daily living including feeding grooming toileting and diapering
- 10Participate in data collection of student performance and implement IEP CERs when applicable
Requirements5
- 1Minimum of a 2-year degree with preference for Early Childhood related fields or paraprofessional certification
- 21 year of classroom experience preferred
- 3Clearances required FBI Fingerprint PA Child Abuse PA State Police
- 4Ability to support students with special needs including various disabilities
- 5Ability to accompany student on school bus or other vehicle as trained
