Overview
Support paraprofessional educator overseeing classroom activities and assisting teachers at Clayton County Public Schools. Responsibilities include preparing materials grading and managing student needs under principal supervision.
What You'll Do9
- 1Conduct small group or individual classroom activities based on teacher lesson plans
- 2Assist with preparation of instructional materials including copying and bulletin board construction
- 3Perform special duties for unique student populations such as lifting students and behavior management
- 4Process correspondence reports and operate computerized circulation systems
- 5File catalog cards vertical files and order cards while maintaining inventory of materials and equipment
- 6Supervise students in media center operations during principal absence
- 7Handle routine record keeping housekeeping and assist with school-wide bus supervision
- 8Maintain classroom supplies and support media specialist duties when absent
- 9Make recommendations affecting classroom operations and hold GaPSC Paraprofessional License
Requirements5
- 1Associate degree or higher from GaPSC-accredited institution
- 2Two years of college coursework above remedial level with C grade or better
- 3Pass GACE Paraprofessional Assessment with high school diploma or GED
- 4Bilingual or bicultural experience preferred
- 5Eligibility for GaPSC Paraprofessional License established upon hire
