Paint Project Manager, Commercial Construction
Overview
You will own commercial painting projects from award through closeout, stepping into an active backlog with 50%+ field time visiting clients and jobsites across the DFW Metroplex. You will lead negotiations on change orders, resolve A/B-level issues, and collaborate with internal APMs who handle operational workload. This role puts you at the center of client relationships with owners and GCs, representing the company professionally on every project. It is ideal for a polished, relationship-focused PM who thrives on field presence and direct client interaction.
What You'll Do7
- 1Own new construction painting projects from award through closeout, delivering on schedule and budget.
- 2Meet regularly with clients, visit active jobsites, and build lasting relationships that drive repeat business.
- 3Lead change order negotiations and resolve A/B-level project issues before they escalate.
- 4Collaborate with internal APMs/PMs to keep project schedules, budgets, and quality standards on track.
- 5Represent the company professionally with owners, GCs, and project partners at every touchpoint.
- 6Track project progress, update stakeholders, and ensure field presence is prioritized over desk work.
- 7Support newly awarded work, ensuring seamless onboarding and execution from day one.
Requirements6
- 13+ years in commercial painting project management or other construction sector experience.
- 2Strong communicator with a customer-first mindset and polished client-facing presence.
- 3Ability to manage multiple projects while prioritizing field presence across local sites.
- 4Comfortable owning relationship management with owners, GCs, and project partners.
- 5Driven, professional, and able to handle client interactions without direct supervision.
- 6Familiarity with Buzzbid Estimating Software is a plus for bid management and estimating workflows.
