Overview

Oversee the packaging room team and deliver accurate, high-volume industrial fastener kits. You own the full workflow: mixing kitting, labeling, and palletizing for customer orders. Manual assembly is the core of the role, with an emphasis on speed and precision. You will lead a team of packagers, ensuring every kit meets exact specifications. This position shatters the norm: it is a hands-on supervisor role where you also work alongside your team on the line. 3:00 am start time, Monday to Friday, in Los Angeles.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Lead a team of packagers to produce boxed and bagged kits by hand, matching customer specifications and ITP requirements.
  • 2Select correct product components and package sizes, and apply customer-specific labels to each kit.
  • 3Assemble kits manually, maintaining constant motion: standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and reaching throughout your shift.
  • 4Double-check each kit against QC standards and your own verification methods before sealing.
  • 5Build and seal boxes with heavy-duty staplers and tape, ensuring gapless closures for maximum durability.
  • 6Oversee skin pack creation, ensuring uniformity and design intent for each kit.
  • 7Drive team productivity to meet daily, weekly, and monthly output targets set by the Packaging Lead or Manager.
  • 8Mentor and hold team members accountable, addressing performance issues immediately.
  • 9Keep the packaging area organized, clearing unused materials to maintain workflow.
  • 10Coordinate with internal departments via phone, email, and in-person communication to resolve issues.

Requirements9

  • 15+ years supervising a manual packaging or assembly team, ideally in kitting or industrial fasteners
  • 23-5 years experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • 3Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for the entirety of an 8-hour shift
  • 4Proficiency in basic mental arithmetic for counting and measuring parts
  • 5Ability to learn products from visual and part number references
  • 6Strong deadline orientation and accuracy, proven by track record
  • 7Proven team leadership and mentoring skills
  • 8Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to work hands-on
  • 9Availability for 3:00 am to 11:30 am Monday to Friday, no exceptions
