OTA Tester, RF & Antenna Validation
Overview
You will own Over-the-Air (OTA) validation across TRP, TIS, EIRP, EIS, and passive antenna tests in San Jose, CA. Working inside the R&S and MVG Satimo anechoic chambers, you will execute CTIA-compliant test plans for LTE, NB-IoT NTN, NR RedCap, BT, and WiFi devices. You will pair with Qualcomm chipset tools including QXDM and drive first-pass yield improvements from day one. This role stands apart by giving you direct ownership of the RF test lab, not just test execution.
What You'll Do8
- 1Execute TRP, TIS, EIRP, and EIS tests per the CTIA OTA test plan using R&S and MVG Satimo chambers.
- 2Run passive antenna efficiency and pattern measurements, plus conducted power and sensitivity checks on VNA, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
- 3Validate device performance across LTE, NB-IoT NTN, NR RedCap, BT BR, BT EDR2, WiFi 2.4/5 GHz, and AGPS L1 with LTE.
- 4Capture and analyze logs with QXDM to isolate RF failures and report deviations to the engineering team.
- 5Maintain the anechoic chamber and RF test equipment, including calibration checks and daily sanity tests.
- 6Document test results and procedural updates for the lab, ensuring repeatability and traceability.
- 7Collaborate with antenna and modem teams to reproduce issues and verify fixes under controlled OTA conditions.
- 8Propose and implement test fixture improvements to cut cycle time without compromising accuracy.
Requirements8
- 12+ years in OTA testing with hands-on use of R&S or MVG Satimo anechoic chambers.
- 2Solid experience with Qualcomm chipsets and QXDM log analysis for RF debugging.
- 3Direct work with TRP/TIS/EIRP/EIS and passive antenna measurements per CTIA test plan.
- 4Skilled in LTE, NR RedCap, NB-IoT NTN, BT, WiFi 2.4/5 GHz, and AGPS test protocols.
- 5Daily use of VNA, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators for RF validation.
- 6Proven ability to execute conducted power and sensitivity tests with minimal supervision.
- 7Familiarity with CTIA certification requirements and test house procedures.
- 8BS in EE or equivalent with 3+ years of RF test engineering experience.
