Overview

CesiumAstro seeks an Electronics Test Technician II for 2nd shift in Austin, TX. You will build and execute module and payload test setups for satellite and UAV communication systems. Work closely with engineers on complex RF and digital circuitry, including active phased arrays (AESA). Maintain and use lab instruments like spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and automated power supplies. What You'll Do7

  • 1Build and document test setups that combine spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and power supplies to validate RF modules and payloads.
  • 2Execute test plans for AESA antennas, capturing performance data under thermal and digital control conditions.
  • 3Troubleshoot complex electronics from component to system level using schematics and test procedures.
  • 4Design and fabricate custom test fixtures and cable harnesses for production and validation stations.
  • 5Validate instrument and cabling performance with measurement checks before each test run.
  • 6Maintain and organize antenna test facilities to ensure readiness and efficiency.
  • 7Report findings concisely and timely to support engineering decisions within 90 days.

Requirements8

  • 13+ years of relevant electronics test experience with an Associate of Applied Science degree, or 4+ years with a High School Diploma.
  • 2Hands-on experience with spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, vector signal analyzers, DMMs, and oscilloscopes.
  • 3Ability to read and interpret schematics and mechanical assembly documentation.
  • 4Proficiency in soldering, building and reworking PCBs and cabling, with familiarity in Automated Test Systems.
  • 5Knowledge of active electronics and experience troubleshooting analog and digital circuits.
  • 6Strong organizational skills and experience with collaboration tools like MS Teams, Confluence, and Jira.
  • 7Ability to work under deadlines and communicate clearly in digital, written, and verbal forms.
  • 8Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual per ITAR regulations.
