Order Management Specialist, Manufacturing & Distribution
Overview
Own the end-to-end order lifecycle for a manufacturing and distribution operation, handling order processing, customer inquiries, and fulfillment coordination at a scale of hundreds of orders weekly. You will work directly with sales, shipping, and vendors to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery. This role offers a clear path for growth within a collaborative team, with a focus on long-term development.
What You'll Do6
- 1Process and update customer orders and sample requests received by phone and email, ensuring data accuracy in ERP systems.
- 2Resolve customer questions about order status, product details, billing, and delivery, escalating complex issues as needed.
- 3Coordinate with manufacturing, shipping, vendors, and sales to keep fulfillment on schedule and resolve discrepancies.
- 4Issue credit memos, re-billings, billing corrections, and order changes, maintaining proper documentation.
- 5Prepare Bills of Lading, arrange carrier pickups, and track shipments including weight tickets and delivery status.
- 6Maintain accurate customer and order records in internal systems, following up until order closure.
Requirements5
- 12+ years of experience in order management, customer service, or administrative support in a distribution or manufacturing setting.
- 2Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and order entry systems like SAP or Oracle.
- 3Strong verbal and written communication skills for customer and internal team interactions.
- 4Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- 5High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree a plus.
