What You'll Do10
- 1Architect and maintain Oracle Exadata storage cells and InfiniBand networking for optimal Smart Scan performance.
- 2Implement and manage Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC) policies to reduce storage footprint and boost query throughput.
- 3Configure and monitor ASM disk groups, ensuring balanced I/O and resolving storage alerts within 24 hours.
- 4Build and maintain Data Guard physical standby databases for failover and DR testing quarterly.
- 5Apply quarterly PSU/DBRU patches across all databases with zero downtime using OEM and GoldenGate for logical replication.
- 6Tune SQL and analyze execution plans to eliminate performance bottlenecks in critical state applications.
- 7Integrate AWS resources for offsite backups and cloud-based reporting instances, cutting on-prem storage costs by 20%.
- 8Document runbooks and knowledge base articles for on-call support, reducing MTTR by 30%.
- 9Lead root cause analysis for Exadata and database incidents and drive preventive measures.
- 10Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to align database changes with release cycles.
Requirements10
- 115+ years of Oracle DBA experience, with 5+ years on Oracle Exadata including storage cells, InfiniBand, and Smart Scan.
- 25+ years managing storage with Oracle ASM and monitoring disk group performance.
- 3Expert-level proficiency in Data Guard, GoldenGate, and high-availability/DR architecture.
- 4Hands-on experience applying PSU/DBRU patches and managing database lifecycle.
- 5Strong SQL tuning and performance analysis skills using OEM and AWR reports.
- 6Production experience with Linux administration and shell scripting.
- 7Experience integrating AWS services (S3, EC2, RDS) with on-prem databases.
- 8Deep understanding of Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC) and storage tiering.
- 9Proven track record troubleshooting Exadata cell alerts, IB errors, and storage faults.
- 10US Citizenship or Green Card required due to government contract.
