Oracle DBA Developer (Hands-on)
Overview
You will own the uptime and performance of Oracle databases in an enterprise environment, supporting critical applications for a client in Alpharetta, GA. You will join a tight-knit team of DBAs and developers, collaborating on schema design, query tuning, and automation. You will drive the lifecycle from install and patching to backup and recovery, with direct client exposure.
What You'll Do8
- 1Install, configure, and patch Oracle databases across development, test, and production environments, ensuring version consistency and security compliance.
- 2Monitor database performance using AWR and ASH reports, tuning SQL queries and PL/SQL procedures to meet SLAs.
- 3Build and validate backup and recovery strategies with RMAN, executing restore drills and troubleshooting corruption issues.
- 4Design and implement high-availability solutions using Data Guard and RAC, minimizing downtime during failovers.
- 5Automate routine DBA tasks using Shell scripts and cron jobs, reducing manual intervention and errors.
- 6Collaborate with application developers to review and optimize SQL and PL/SQL code before deployment.
- 7Manage database security, including user provisioning, roles, and privileges, aligning with Oracle security best practices.
- 8Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, runbooks, and incident responses.
Requirements7
- 15+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience in enterprise environments.
- 2Expertise in Oracle 19c and 21c, including installation, patching, and upgrades.
- 3Strong SQL and PL/SQL development and tuning skills.
- 4Proficiency with RMAN for backup and recovery, with documented restore scenarios.
- 5Experience with Data Guard and RAC for high availability.
- 6Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and Shell scripting.
- 7Oracle OCP certification preferred.
