Optician, Medical Assistant in Los Angeles & Senior Care Vision Services
Overview
Optician or Medical Assistant role supporting senior outpatient clinics across Los Angeles County. You will assist with intake, screenings, eyewear selection, and portable equipment setup in a mission-driven healthcare setting. This is a non retail environment focused on quality patient interactions and meaningful access to care. You will collaborate with optometry teams and have opportunities to cross-train in audiology and podiatry.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build patient intake and visual screening workflows to support optometrists
- 2Assist with eyewear selection, fittings, and basic repairs for geriatric patients
- 3Set up, break down, and maintain portable optometry equipment in clinic sites
- 4Follow sterilization, safety, and infection control protocols across locations
- 5Complete charting and administrative tasks to ensure accurate patient records
- 6Represent CMC with professionalism and compassion in diverse community clinics
- 7Support bilingual communication with patients and families
- 8Collaborate with providers and clinical teams to optimize patient flow
- 9Rotate between senior outpatient clinics across Los Angeles County and surrounding cities
- 10Demonstrate reliability and independence in a mission-driven environment
Requirements10
- 12+ years of experience as an Optician or Optometric Technician preferred
- 2Medical Assisting experience is a plus
- 3Bi‑lingual proficiency required
- 4Experience serving geriatric or senior populations preferred
- 5Strong understanding of OSHA and infection control standards
- 6Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required
- 7Able to lift and transport equipment (typically 25–50 lbs)
- 8Must pass a federal background check and drug screening
- 9Professional, punctual, and able to work independently
