Overview
You will own patient preparation and optical support at Eye Lite Optometry in Los Altos, working alongside licensed optometrists in a high-volume clinic. You will manage optical equipment and EMR systems to ensure accurate documentation and seamless operations. Your day includes fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses, supporting lab tasks, and driving retail sales of eyewear. What You'll Do9
- 1Prepare patients for eye examinations, gathering history and ensuring comfort.
- 2Fit and adjust eyeglasses and contact lenses to achieve proper fit and comfort.
- 3Support lab tasks including frame adjustments and quality control to guarantee product accuracy.
- 4Manage retail sales of eyewear, providing tailored recommendations and excellent service.
- 5Operate lensometers, autorefractors, visual field analyzers, and retinal cameras for diagnostic tests.
- 6Maintain accurate medical records using EMR platforms like OfficeMate or equivalent.
- 7Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
- 8Assist with inventory management of optical supplies and medical equipment.
- 9Support billing processes by applying knowledge of medical coding for optometric services.
Requirements8
- 11+ years of prior experience in an optometry or ophthalmology clinic.
- 2Knowledge of medical terminology, eye anatomy, and physiology.
- 3Experience in retail sales or customer service within healthcare or retail.
- 4Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics and seniors.
- 5Proficiency with EMR systems, including OfficeMate.
- 6Familiarity with optical equipment such as lensometers and autorefractors.
- 7Understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical coding basics.
- 8High school diploma or equivalent.
