Operations Manager, Logistics & Lean Improvement
Overview
Own operations performance at scale within a three-mile delivery network and drive customer delivery promises. Lead a mixed team of salaried and hourly staff, develop productivity plans, and partner with safety, engineering, and quality teams. The role emphasizes data-driven decisions, Lean techniques, and cross-functional collaboration to improve safety, quality, and on-time delivery. What You'll Do10
- 1Lead and develop salaried and hourly teams to achieve safety, quality, attendance, and performance goals
- 2Build and execute productivity plans through forecast reviews and load balancing in partnership with other leaders
- 3Drive data-driven improvements in productivity and throughput across multiple sites
- 4Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and HR to implement plans that meet business objectives
- 5Manage large-scope projects with site and regional impact to optimize operations
- 6Monitor customer delivery promises and ensure orders arrive on time and at the right location
- 7Lift up to 49 pounds and perform tasks requiring standing, bending, and climbing as needed
- 8Maintain adaptability in environments with variable noise, temperatures, and weather
- 9Support continuous professional growth through annual site expansions and new site launches
- 10Provide mentorship and motivation to a diverse workforce to sustain high performance
Requirements6
- 13+ years of employee and performance management experience
- 2Bachelor`s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon experience
- 3Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- 4Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
- 5Experience managing teams of 2+ salaried and 70+ indirect employees
- 6Experience scoping and implementing process improvements using Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma
