You take charge of pediatric surgical care in the Operating Room at Shriners Children's Chicago, an organization named the 2025 best mid-sized employer by Forbes. You deliver safe, family-centered care to children up to age 18, collaborating with a team of top healthcare professionals. PRN schedule offers work-life balance with no scheduled cases on weekends or holidays, but you take call at least 1x/week and rotating weekends. What You'll Do6
- 1Provide nursing care to pediatric patients in the OR, performing assessments and interventions to ensure safety during surgery.
- 2Assist the physician in accomplishing the plan of care, ensuring continuity between the patient care unit and the Operating Room.
- 3Deliver compassionate, family-centered care to children who need it most, maintaining RN standards.
- 4Support the surgical team with scrub experience when required, contributing to efficient case flow.
- 5Take on-call shifts at least 1x/week and rotating weekends, responding to emergency surgical needs.
- 6Apply pediatric acute care skills to meet the unique needs of children, including plastic reconstructive and orthopedic cases.
Requirements6
- 1BSN degree required or in progress.
- 2Active Illinois RN license.
- 32+ years OR experience.
- 4CNOR certification highly preferred.
- 5Scrub experience preferred.
- 6Prior pediatric acute care, plastic reconstructive surgery, orthopedic and spine experience a plus.
Salary Insight
$79 - $119k per year
