What You'll Do9

  • 1Administer IV chemotherapeutic agents and monitor patients for safety and response during infusion.
  • 2Initiate IV access and manage infusion lines per protocol.
  • 3Assess patient status including vitals, labs, and symptoms, and prioritize interventions as needed.
  • 4Document treatment history accurately in the EHR and on paper charts.
  • 5Educate patients and families on chemotherapy regimens, side effects, and self-care.
  • 6Coordinate with oncologists to adjust treatment based on patient response.
  • 7Order and maintain inventory of chemotherapy supplies and medical stock.
  • 8Support patients newly diagnosed with acute conditions, providing emotional and clinical guidance.
  • 9Answer patient inquiries about treatment plans and follow-up care.

Requirements9

  • 12-5 years of experience as an oncology nurse in a clinical setting.
  • 2BSN degree in nursing from an accredited program.
  • 3Active RN license in the state of Michigan.
  • 4Experience with chemotherapy administration and IV therapy.
  • 5Proficiency in EHR charting and keyboarding skills.
  • 6Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • 7Excellent verbal and written communication for patient education.
  • 8Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • 9Current BLS certification (preferred).
