What You'll Do5
- 1Confirm medication safety against the patient's full active med list and administration history, using Lexidrug and Trissel's.
- 2Catch medication reconciliation gaps, missed IV compatibility issues, or adverse-reaction patterns requiring timeline tracing.
- 3Judge completeness by evaluating if the full clinical picture is accounted for or if the question is scoped too narrowly.
- 4Distinguish between issues within nursing scope and those needing escalation to pharmacy or the prescriber.
- 5Verify that a correct nursing finding is carried through, ensuring dose is held, the right person is notified, and chart is documented.
Requirements6
- 12+ years of professional nursing experience, inpatient/acute care setting strongly preferred.
- 2Frequent Lexidrug (or Lexicomp) use - weekly or more - in your current or recent role.
- 3Reflexive use of Interactions and Trissel's at the point of administration.
- 4RN license in good standing; BSN or higher preferred.
- 5Strong working knowledge in at least 2-3 specialized areas, tied to your practice setting.
- 6Comfort judging whether a correct nursing finding was properly escalated and documented.
