This remote, hourly role places an experienced Clinical Documentation Integrity leader at the heart of an AI research initiative. What You'll Do9
- 1Oversee CDI programs across inpatient and outpatient settings, managing both concurrent and retrospective review processes.
- 2Assess AI-generated documentation suggestions, physician queries, and coding recommendations for clinical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- 3Analyze medical records to ensure proper capture of diagnoses, procedures, severity of illness, and mortality risk.
- 4Build and maintain physician query workflows that follow AHIMA and ACDIS best practices.
- 5Track and report on CDI performance metrics such as query response rates, CC/MCC capture, case mix index, and DRG precision.
- 6Partner with coding, compliance, and clinical teams to resolve documentation gaps and refine query procedures.
- 7Deliver training and guidance to physicians and clinical staff on documentation standards and best practices.
- 8Adhere to Official Coding Guidelines, CMS regulations, and payer-specific requirements in all evaluations.
- 9Provide structured feedback and annotations on AI outputs to support model training and improvement.
Requirements7
- 1At least five years of hands-on CDI experience, including two or more years in a management or leadership role.
- 2Strong command of MS-DRG methodologies, CC/MCC hierarchies, and ICD-10-CM/PCS coding guidelines.
- 3Proven ability to manage physician queries in line with AHIMA and ACDIS compliant practices.
- 4Solid clinical foundation with the skill to interpret complex medical records and documentation.
- 5Hands-on experience with CDI platforms like 3M, Nuance, Optum360, or similar EHR systems.
- 6Impeccable written and spoken English, with excellent attention to detail when evaluating clinical and AI-generated content.
- 7Ability to work autonomously and thrive in a fully remote environment.
