Pharmacist | $75-$120/hr Remote
Overview
This remote contract role puts your clinical pharmacy judgment to work evaluating medication safety questions using UpToDate Lexidrug (formerly Lexicomp). You'll verify that interaction, dosing, and contraindication findings hold up against each patient's full chart — not just the drug pair in question. It's a high-judgment position for experienced PharmDs who want to apply their expertise to AI evaluation and clinical content validation.
What You'll Do5
- 1Check interaction, dosing, and contraindication findings against the patient's complete medication list and chart, not just the specific drugs named in the query.
- 2Identify missed interactions, outdated labs or weight driving incorrect doses, and cases where monograph guidance has been superseded by a newer Special Alert.
- 3Evaluate whether the full clinical picture — all active meds, current labs, and comorbidities — was considered, or if the question was scoped too narrowly.
- 4Distinguish 'permitted' from 'appropriate' and flag situations where a drug clears safety checks but is still a poor clinical choice for that patient.
- 5Confirm that correct clinical conclusions are carried through to action, including updated orders, prescriber notification, and chart documentation.
Requirements7
- 1Regular, weekly-or-more use of UpToDate Lexidrug or Lexicomp in a current or recent pharmacy role.
- 2At least 2 years of professional pharmacy experience, with inpatient or hospital setting strongly preferred.
- 3PharmD and active pharmacy license, or equivalent verification-heavy clinical experience.
- 4Strong working knowledge in at least 2-3 specialized areas such as Trissel's IV compatibility, pediatric dosing, Beers Criteria, pregnancy/lactation risk categories, REMS programs, therapeutic class comparison, or drug identification and patient education.
- 5Ability to spot a missed interaction, stale dose calculation, or superseded guidance on sight.
- 6Comfort determining whether a clinical finding was properly followed through into the chart, orders, and care-team communication.
- 7Prior data annotation, labeling, or AI evaluation experience is a plus.
Who Should Apply
This is for a working clinical pharmacist who lives in Lexidrug or Lexicomp daily — you reflexively run interaction checks and read monographs, and you get frustrated when a query only looks at two drugs instead of the whole patient. You have an eye for missed details, a strong sense of clinical appropriateness, and you're comfortable making judgment calls that go beyond simple checkboxes. Experience with data annotation or AI evaluation is a bonus, but not required.

Application Tip
In your application, explicitly list which Lexidrug modules you use weekly — Interactions, Trissel's, monographs, dose calculators — and name the 2-3 specialized areas (e.g., Beers Criteria, renal dosing, or pediatrics) you can demonstrate depth in. This immediately signals you meet the core requirement.
