Overview
Global Engineering & Technology seeks a Nuclear Weapons Subject Matter Expert to support the DOE Office of Classification in Germantown Maryland. This full-time position offers compensation between $175000 and $190000 annually and includes relocation assistance for candidates outside the DMV region. The role involves advising senior management on technical issues and leading working groups to develop policy documents.
What You'll Do11
- 1Advise senior DOE management on nuclear weapons technical issues

- 10Develop training materials for specialized topics like Inertial Confinement Fusion
- 11Support nuclear material interdiction efforts through programs such as Second Line of Defense
Requirements11
- 1Advanced degree in nuclear engineering or a physical science
- 2Minimum of ten years of hands-on nuclear weapons experience
- 3Hands-on experience with computer codes simulation tools and XML programming
- 4Expertise in radiation exposure devices and radiological dispersal devices
- 5Understanding of National Security Information and Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information
- 6Security clearance: US citizenship and current DoD Top Secret or DOE Q clearance
- 7Experience with improvised nuclear devices and second line of defense programs
- 8Proven track record of leadership in technical policy development
- 9Ability to read and comprehend written English at academic grade fifteen level
- 10Ten years of field experience in nuclear weapons research or related domains
- 11Prior experience with DOE/NNSA/DoD/NHS/RCA environments
