
NOC Observability Specialist, Dashboard Engineering
Overview
Own the design, build, and maintenance of operational dashboards across New Relic, Conviva, Mux, and Orion. Partner with Executive Leadership, Engineering Managers, and Product teams to translate raw telemetry into actionable insights. This role lives in the NOC, where uptime and clarity are non-negotiable. You set the standard for how the organization sees its own health.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design and build real-time dashboards in New Relic that surface critical service health to leadership within the first 30 days.
- 2Integrate Conviva and Mux player telemetry into a unified view for streaming quality metrics.
- 3Configure Orion alerts and thresholds to catch network anomalies before they impact customers.
- 4Partner with Engineering Managers to define SLOs and map them to dashboard widgets.
- 5Automate dashboard refresh cycles and data validation checks to prevent stale metrics.
- 6Drive incident response by creating drill-down paths from high-level summaries to root-cause logs.
- 7Deliver weekly operational reviews to executives with dashboards that tell a clear story.
- 8Continuously refine dashboard layouts based on feedback from NOC analysts and engineers.
Requirements8
- 15+ years in NOC or observability engineering with hands-on New Relic dashboarding.
- 23+ years using Conviva and Mux for video streaming analytics.
- 32+ years configuring Orion network monitoring and alerting.
- 4Proven skill writing NRQL queries for complex data aggregation.
- 5Experience with REST APIs to pull metrics from multiple sources into custom dashboards.
- 6Strong grasp of JSON and JavaScript for widget customization.
- 7Ability to translate business KPIs into technical dashboard metrics.
- 8Onsite presence in Long Island, NY required.
