Network Operations Section Manager, Classified Networks
Overview
You will lead a regional team of 20+ networking professionals delivering secure, reliable network services for classified environments at Raytheon. Reporting to the Network Operations Lead, you own the full team and the Local and Wide Area Networks they support, with accountability for operational delivery, technical direction, and strategic roadmap execution. Your team spans California, Colorado, and Indiana, and you will coordinate with matrixed resources to meet mission-critical commitments. This role demands a leader who builds trust, drives disciplined execution, and partners with cybersecurity and engineering to modernize infrastructure.
What You'll Do9
- 1Lead a team of 20+ networking professionals to deliver secure, reliable network services for classified environments.
- 2Develop team capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and performance management, fostering a culture of ownership and technical excellence.
- 3Translate priorities into actionable plans, establish milestones, and manage multiple operational and project commitments.
- 4Drive the networking roadmap by identifying modernization opportunities, technical debt, and resiliency improvements.
- 5Shape and prioritize the networking roadmap with a focus on service reliability, security, and cost.
- 6Build strong relationships with program leaders, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders to align priorities.
- 7Establish disciplined practices across incident, problem, change, configuration, and vulnerability management.
- 8Guide technical direction with sufficient networking knowledge to evaluate risks and make informed decisions.
- 9Apply sound judgment balancing technical requirements, security obligations, and resource constraints.
Requirements8
- 110+ years relevant experience with a University Degree, or 7+ years with an Advanced Degree in a related field.
- 2Active 8140 Advanced certification for Network Operations Specialist (e.g., CCNP Security, CASP+) or for IT Investment/Portfolio Manager (e.g., CISSP).
- 3Experience with classified networking concepts and operations including routing, switching, and network monitoring.
- 4Experience leading technical teams through organizational change and resource constraints.
- 5Experience leading complex technical projects and operations, including roadmaps and modernization efforts.
- 6Experience building execution plans and managing competing priorities.
- 7Experience in workforce planning and resource management.
- 8Active Top Secret security clearance with U.S. citizenship required on day 1.
