Overview

Valid NYS driver’s license with a clean driving record to join a Brooklyn EMS base and transport patients safely under EMT supervision. You will operate and maintain the ambulance and equipment while following traffic laws and coordinating with facilities and teammates. This role supports flexible schedules, paid time off, and weekly pay in a professional setting with dedicated coworkers. You’ll work alongside EMTs and respond to calls as dispatched to ensure efficient patient transport.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Build and maintain safe ambulance operations and equipment while following applicable laws and company policies
  • 2Respond to EMS calls with an EMT partner and transport patients to destinations safely and efficiently
  • 3Maintain clear communication with patients, facilities, and coworkers throughout every transport
  • 4Inspect, clean, and perform basic maintenance on ambulances and equipment
  • 5Document patient transport details accurately and promptly
  • 6Adhere to safety protocols for lifting up to 250 lbs with assistance as needed
  • 7Support on-call and shift coverage requirements per schedule
  • 8Participate in ongoing training and certification refreshers as required
  • 9Collaborate with dispatch and leadership to optimize response times
  • 10Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with patients and healthcare teams

Requirements10

  • 1Valid NYS driver’s license and clean driving record
  • 2Ability to safely lift 250 lbs with assistance
  • 3Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • 43+ years experience driving ambulances, trucks, or other oversized vehicles (preferred)
  • 5Prior healthcare experience (preferred)
  • 6Must pass background check including Sex Offender Registry screening as per NY law
  • 7Onsite, full-time or part-time availability with flexible schedules
  • 8Ability to operate and maintain ambulance and equipment according to EMS standards
  • 9Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • 10Must meet all ongoing state requirements for EMS drivers
