Overview
Mercor is looking for music professionals to help evaluate and improve generative music AI models. You'll listen to AI-generated tracks across many genres and rate them against detailed quality standards, working primarily in Korean and English. This remote, part-time role runs up to six months and pays per completed evaluation rather than per hour. It's a unique chance to put your musical ear and Korean language skills to work on cutting-edge AI technology.
What You'll Do4
- 1Compare AI-generated music tracks side-by-side and score them on musicality, creativity, prompt adherence, vocal quality, and overall mix/production quality
- 2Classify each song using a structured taxonomy — tagging genre, sub-genre, song structure, and vocal/instrumental details
- 3Review and rate generated lyrics and vocal deliveries against provided reference material
- 4Assess the quality of musical training data used by the models
Requirements6
- 1Native or near-native ability in Korean, plus the ability to follow detailed written instructions in English
- 2Professional or semi-professional music experience in one of two tracks: production (3+ years as a producer, audio engineer, or mixer with strong descriptive vocabulary) or music & language (deep knowledge of the Korean music scene with experience as a songwriter, lyricist, performer, composer, or journalist) — studio production credentials not required for the music & language track
- 3Access to quality headphones or studio monitors for careful listening
- 4Nice to have: formal training in music performance, theory, or composition
- 5Nice to have: experience writing, performing, or producing released music in Korean
- 6Nice to have: broad familiarity with contemporary Korean genres, subgenres, and artists
