What You'll Do4
- 1Compare AI-generated music samples side by side, rating them on musicality, originality, adherence to the given prompt, vocal quality, and overall production and mixing standards.
- 2Break down each track using a structured taxonomy, tagging genre and sub-genre, identifying song structure, and noting vocal and instrumental traits.
- 3Assess generated lyrics and vocal delivery against reference recordings to judge accuracy and expressiveness.
- 4Score the quality of the underlying musical training data to help improve future model outputs.
Requirements5
- 1Native or near-native command of English, including strong written communication for professional annotations.
- 2Professional or semi-professional background in music, meeting the criteria for either the production track or the music-and-language track described below.
- 3Access to quality listening equipment — headphones or studio monitors — suitable for critical evaluation.
- 4Production track: 3+ years as a producer, audio engineer, or mixer, with ability to describe mixes using technical audio terms.
- 5Music and language track: deep familiarity with the US English-language music scene and experience as a songwriter, lyricist, performer, composer, or music journalist.
