Overview
We are searching for a Milk Bank Technician who stores prepares and delivers mother`s breast milk to hospitalized infants. This role involves assisting mothers to express milk appropriately. The position requires 8hr shifts five days weekly.
What You'll Do10
- 1Accurately weigh measure and prepare mother` own and/or pasteurized donor human milk per physician orders
- 2Calculate accurate quantities of milk and fortifiers based on diet orders
- 3Monitor milk storage supplies and discard expired additives
- 4Rotate stored milk to minimize waste
- 5Enter patient charges into EPM computer system daily
- 6Prepare labels for individual feedings
- 7Utilize milk preparation storage equipment efficiently
- 8Communicate with parents to ensure proper collection
- 9Collaborate with nursing staff for feeding order clarification
- 10Report inventory shortages to manager
Requirements7
- 1High School Diploma or GED
- 2Six months healthcare related work experience
- 3BS degree in Nutrition or Healthcare field can substitute for six months experience
- 4One year nutrition or breastfeeding education preferred
- 5Ability to operate electronic scales analyzers and centrifuges
- 6Basic computer skills
- 7Sanitary techniques knowledge
