Medical Scribe, Pain Management & Spine
Overview
You will document patient encounters in real time for a busy pain management physician at Grewal Orthopedic and Spine Care in Westbury, NY. You will own the clinical chart: capturing histories, physical exams, and procedure notes for epidural injections and nerve blocks. You will work one-on-one with the physician, tracking imaging and labs, and maintaining compliant charts in Advanced MD EHR. This role is built for pre-med students, gap-year applicants, and IMGs preparing for residency, offering direct exposure to pain management, spine conditions, and interventional procedures.
What You'll Do7
- 1Document patient encounters in Advanced MD EHR in real time, capturing HPI, physical exams, and treatment plans during the visit.
- 2Assist with procedure documentation for epidural injections, nerve blocks, and other interventional pain procedures.
- 3Track and record imaging results (MRI, CT, X-ray) and labs, ensuring they are filed and flagged appropriately.
- 4Maintain accurate, compliant, and timely charts, meeting clinic documentation standards.
- 5Review and update medication lists and histories, supporting chronic pain management planning.
- 6Coordinate follow-up tasks, such as referrals and imaging orders, ensuring physician instructions are executed.
- 7Support patient flow by pre-charting and preparing templates for upcoming visits.
Requirements9
- 1Pre-med, pre-PA, or medical graduate (IMGs encouraged to apply).
- 2Strong medical terminology knowledge, including anatomy, procedures, and pharmacology.
- 3Typing speed 60+ WPM, with accuracy under pressure.
- 4Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume outpatient clinic.
- 5Reliable transportation to Westbury, NY.
- 6Commitment to work full-time, Monday through Friday, for at least 12 months.
- 7Preferred: Prior scribing or clinical experience.
- 8Preferred: Familiarity with EHR systems, especially Advanced MD.
- 9Preferred: Background in biology, neuroscience, or related field.
