Overview
We seek a Medical Records Clerk to support clinical and administrative teams. This role maintains patient records ensures documentation accuracy supports compliance efforts and assists with medical records requests in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Organize maintain and update patient medical records within EHR systems
- 2Ensure records are accurate complete and maintained in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- 3Process incoming and outgoing medical records requests from patients providers and third-party organizations
- 4Review and audit patient records for completeness and resolve documentation discrepancies
- 5Enter referrals imaging reports test results procedure notes and other medical documentation into patient charts
- 6Manage scanned documents faxes and medical correspondence
- 7Collaborate with providers clinical teams and administrative staff to ensure timely documentation
- 8Support billing coding insurance verification and related administrative functions as needed
- 9Assist with patient intake documentation and data entry projects
- 10Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy standards
Requirements13
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 2High school diploma or GED required
- 3Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical records health information or medical office role
- 4Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical record confidentiality requirements
- 5Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- 6Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
- 7Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Word Excel Outlook
- 8Strong communication and teamwork skills
- 9Experience working in a medical office setting
- 10Familiarity with EHR/EMR platforms particularly AdvancedMD
- 11Insurance verification or medical billing experience
- 12Knowledge of medical terminology anatomy or podiatry-related healthcare services
- 13Relevant healthcare certifications such as RHIT or CPC
