What You'll Do10
- 1Build and perform phlebotomy draws with attention to OSHA and universal precautions
- 2Escort patients to treatment areas and record vitals and patient data prior to visits
- 3Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as directed by physicians
- 4Answer and route patient calls, obtain referrals and coordinate pharmacy communications
- 5Collect and organize patient records, lab data and diagnostics for physician review
- 6Prepare and stock exam rooms, order supplies, and assist with tests and follow-ups
- 7Schedule tests and procedures to ensure timely completion of care
- 8Maintain patient confidentiality and support administrative duties as needed
- 9Support patient education activities and distribute educational materials
- 10Notify physicians of reschedules or no-shows and contribute to a positive patient experience
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or GED required
- 2Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program preferred
- 3Phlebotomy certification or minimum 2 years phlebotomy experience required
- 4Three years of medical assistant experience in a medical practice preferred
- 5Ability to perform routine clinical tasks including vital signs, injections and triage
- 6Strong communication skills and ability to handle clerical tasks and chart management
- 7Commitment to confidentiality and professional patient care
- 8Availability Monday-Friday day schedule
- 9Onsite role in Pittsburgh area
