Medical Assistant, Pediatric Urgent Care
Overview
As a Medical Assistant at PM Pediatrics, you will own clinical and administrative support for pediatric patients in a fast-paced urgent care setting. What You'll Do10
- 1Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations, including greeting and registering patients as they arrive.
- 2Obtain medical history, vital signs, and intake, then prepare patients for X-rays.
- 3Perform and document routine labs such as throat and urine cultures, with venipuncture experience preferred.
- 4Irrigate and assist with wounds, and apply splints when needed.
- 5Assist in performing quality control testing in the lab, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- 6Keep exam rooms and front reception stocked with supplies, and maintain order and cleanliness of the waiting room.
- 7Help patients in distress by responding to emergencies and notifying the medical team, including nurse, urgent care tech, and physician.
- 8Maintain patient confidence by protecting care information and following confidentiality policies.
- 9Assist patients with complaints and take an active role in service recovery when needed.
- 10Perform other duties as needed, including assisting the nurse or provider in medical procedures, and use Microsoft Office Suite and medical software for documentation.
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or GED.
- 2Prior experience or education as a Medical Assistant.
- 3Knowledge of EKG placement and processing in children.
- 4Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab and venipuncture.
- 5Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor.
- 6Strong communication and organizational skills.
- 7Prior pediatric experience.
- 8Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
- 9Comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, and willing to learn medical software.
- 10Experience with medical records preferred.
