Medical Assistant, Part-Time Primary Care
Overview
Own patient care in a part-time role at Equitas Health, a regional community health system serving 67,000 patients. You will room patients, administer IM, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections, and manage referrals. Work onsite in Columbus, Ohio, with a team of 22 offices. What You'll Do8
- 1Room patients, obtain vitals, and update basic health information in Epic EHR within the first 30 days.
- 2Answer phones, complete prior authorizations, and handle medical records requests as assigned by Leadership.
- 3Administer intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections as ordered, logging all medications.
- 4Prepare exam rooms by sterilizing surfaces and restocking supplies for daily patient visits.
- 5Assist providers with procedures, documenting all care in the EHR.
- 6Process patient referrals for specialty care and follow up to ensure quality care is provided.
- 7Provide follow-up phone calls to patients and professionals as needed.
- 8Adhere to Equitas Health Care compliance standards and participate in agency meetings as requested.
Requirements6
- 11+ year experience as a Medical Assistant or 120 hours of completed clinical/externship through a Medical Assistant Program.
- 2Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and CPR/BLS certification.
- 3High school diploma or GED.
- 4Experience with electronic health records; Epic experience preferred.
- 5Ability to work Saturdays and reliable transportation with driver's license and auto insurance.
- 6Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
