The Medical Assistant supports providers and advanced clinicians delivering patient centered care in a dynamic team environment. What You'll Do11
- 1Communicate and perform clinical care services with patients
- 2Take patient vital signs and obtain patient intake information
- 3Perform clinical procedures such as blood draws vaccines nebulizer treatments ear lavages and EKGs
- 4Discuss patient needs and provide education and resources directly
- 5Ensure exam rooms are stocked cleaned and set up for examinations and procedures
- 6Coordinate provider workflows to ensure efficient patient care
- 7Maintain provider information including diagnostic images labs and required screenings
- 8Assist other providers and care teams in women’s health pediatrics and general medicine departments
- 9Utilize electronic health records to order process and document clinical treatment plans
- 10Convey information to patients via telephone or email under provider direction
- 11Provide requested documents after review to ensure accuracy and completion
Requirements13
- 1High school diploma or GED required
- 2Valid Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited program
- 3Current Basic Life Support certification upon hire and maintenance
- 4One year medical assistant experience preferred
- 5Bilingual English Spanish highly preferred
- 6Familiarity with medical procedures and terminology
- 7Proficiency with electronic health records systems
- 8Intermediate computer and data entry skills
- 9Sound judgment to anticipate patient and provider needs
- 10Flexibility with changing priorities and time sensitive deadlines
- 11Emotional and cultural intelligence for appropriate communication
- 12Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and as part of a team
- 13Professional handling of confidential information
