What You'll Do11
- 1Accurately schedule tests and obtain films/reports while preparing lab specimens per policy
- 2Assist physicians and nurses with special procedures as defined on competency checklists
- 3Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care plans
- 4Electronically submit, call, or fax prescriptions and refills to outpatient pharmacies
- 5Ensure data from procedures is recorded in medical records and appropriate forms
- 6Maintain orderliness in examination rooms and stock assigned areas with proper supply levels
- 7Complete required logs and equipment checks including refrigerator and emergency carts
- 8Perform clerical duties such as greeting patients, registration, scheduling, and processing insurance forms
- 9Handle prescription processing, financial records, phone inquiries, and ambulatory charge entries
- 10Conduct vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures documented in medical records
- 11Execute simple procedures as directed by nursing or medical staff per competency guidelines
Requirements6
- 1High School Graduate or GED
- 2Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or 3+ years relevant experience
- 3Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 14 days of hire
- 4Proficient basic typing and word processing skills
- 5Valid professional licensure and certification
- 6Ability to work full-time in a fast-paced healthcare environment
