Overview

You will support MD Anderson's ambulatory clinics in The Woodlands, delivering comprehensive cancer care to patients across the greater Houston area. As a Medical Assistant, you will assist with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures while managing front and back-office duties. Working alongside oncology nurses and physicians, you will ensure smooth patient flow and accurate documentation. This role offers a consistent Monday-Friday schedule, 8:00am-4:30pm, and the chance to contribute to world-class cancer care. You will gain exposure to EPIC and other clinical systems, with opportunities for professional growth through the Career Development Center.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Assist with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures, preparing rooms and escorting patients.
  • 2Obtain vital signs and prepare patients for physician care, documenting entries in the medical record.
  • 3Collect laboratory specimens and perform waived testing, then review and sort incoming lab results for provider review.
  • 4Transport patients for discharge or transfer, and clean, store, and maintain medical equipment.
  • 5Maintain inventories of lab and medical supplies, and instruct patients on test preparations.
  • 6Support front-office functions including scheduling, registration, and patient check-in/out.
  • 7Coordinate with the care team to ensure efficient patient flow and timely care delivery.

Requirements6

  • 11+ year of Medical Assistant experience, or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (including externship/practicum) or U.S. Military medical training.
  • 2High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3Certification preferred: CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA upon hire.
  • 4CPR certification preferred upon hire.
  • 5Prior front and back office experience in an ambulatory clinic setting is preferred.
  • 6Ability to work onsite Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.
