Overview

You own the clinical workflow for a busy primary care practice in Euless, TX, supporting providers and patients across 21 locations. You will handle rooming, vitals, EMR documentation, and pediatric vaccines, with the flexibility to cross-train and mentor new MAs. As a Certified Medical Assistant with Athena EMR experience, you will be the backbone of our care team, driving value-based care initiatives and ensuring a seamless patient experience. What You'll Do9

  • 1Room patients per guidelines, take vitals, and document accurately in the EMR, while performing basic tests and procedures.
  • 2Administer pediatric vaccines and utilize specialized equipment like spirometry, nebulizers, and audiometry.
  • 3Review patient schedules, prepare encounters, and escalate issues within scope to support efficient clinic flow.
  • 4Support providers in Value Based Care initiatives, including clinical inbox management and prescription refill protocols.
  • 5Cross-train to work in other departments, roles, and locations, and cover Nurse/MA Visits as needed.
  • 6Lead POD/Station compliance and inventory checks, and participate in clinical projects.
  • 7Serve as a preceptor for onboarding and training new MAs, and relay provider instructions to patients with follow-up.
  • 8Support care coordination efforts, including referrals and prior authorizations, and identify workflow improvements for leadership.
  • 9Maintain accurate EMR documentation, including chart preparation and note entry, and communicate with the care team to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements6

  • 11+ years of experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • 2Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent).
  • 3Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • 4Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS certification for healthcare providers, preferred or obtainable within 60 days of hire.
  • 5Documented proficiency in phlebotomy, quality metrics/VBC, or precepting preferred.
  • 6Experience with Athena EMR is preferred.
