Mechatronics Apprentice, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
Overview
You will start your career in pharmaceutical manufacturing as a Mechatronics Apprentice at the Maurice R. Hilleman Center for Vaccine Manufacturing. You will operate automated production lines, maintain PLC and robotics systems, and support critical vaccine production. This paid apprenticeship includes Wake Tech coursework covered by the company, with conversion to a full technician role after one year. You will work alongside engineers and maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and production quality.
What You'll Do9
- 1Learn and execute automated equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting on vaccine production lines.
- 2Perform manufacturing operations, environmental monitoring, and facility disinfection per cGMP standards.
- 3Set up and operate formulation, aseptic filling, inspection, and packaging equipment within qualified parameters.
- 4Identify potential equipment problems, troubleshoot processes, and ensure timely resolution.
- 5Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics for maintenance tasks.
- 6Use measurement tools and industrial tools for precision adjustments on mechanical assemblies.
- 7Document work performed and support return-to-service activities for production equipment.
- 8Coordinate with cross-functional teams to minimize disruptions and maintain production schedules.
- 9Support preventive maintenance programs through CMMS and data-driven improvement initiatives.
