
Mechanical Technician II, CNC Machining, Sunnyvale & Onsite Contract
Overview
Own CNC machining tasks at scale in a hands-on mechanical technician role focused on precision fabrication. What You'll Do10
- 1Build and set up CNC tooling and fixtures for machining operations to meet tolerance specs
- 2Design and implement process improvements for CNC workflows aimed at reduced cycle times
- 3Lead measurement and inspection using CMMs and metrology equipment to ensure part conformance
- 4Ship finished parts with accurate documentation and traceability for production records
- 5Own preventive maintenance and calibration of CNC machines to minimize downtime
- 6Scale setup sheets and work instructions for repeatability across shifts
- 7Debug fixture issues and alignments to maintain tool life and part accuracy
- 8Drive safety discipline and 5S organization on the shop floor
- 9Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot fabrication issues impacting yield
- 10Support new part introductions through first-piece inspection and acceptance testing
Requirements8
- 13-5 years of hands-on CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2Experience with CNC programming and setup for Milling and Turning operations
- 3Strong grasp of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and metrology
- 4Proficiency with inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and surface plates
- 5Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and BOMs
- 6Work experience in a contract or on-site manufacturing setting
- 7Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- 8Ability to work on-site in San Jose or Sunnyvale, CA on a contract basis
