What You'll Do11
- 1Interpret 3D CAD models and spec charts to plan part manufacturing processes
- 2Perform precision TIG and MIG welding on structural assemblies using machine shop equipment
- 3Assemble complex mechanical and electromechanical systems as required
- 4Inspect finished components for dimensional accuracy and weld integrity
- 5Modify and repair parts using welding grinding and machining techniques
- 6Work with refractory metals and ceramics to meet durability requirements
- 7Partner with engineers to troubleshoot fabrication challenges and recommend design improvements
- 8Record prototype builds and assembly procedures for engineering feedback
- 9Maintain welding gear and machine tools following safety protocols
- 10Document fabrication parameters and component modifications
- 11Collaborate across functions to support agile R&D initiatives
Requirements11
- 1Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in mechanical fabrication welding and assembly
- 2Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding on various metals
- 3Familiarity with manual mills lathes grinders and general metalworking tools
- 4Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- 5Strong attention to detail with tolerance for tight specifications
- 6Exceptional problem-solving skills for real-time fabrication challenges
- 7Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent training
- 8Knowledge of high-temperature materials including ceramics alloys and refractory metals
- 9Experience in R&D or startup environments preferred
