Mechanical Engineer, Land & Air Systems, CAD & FEA
Overview
Owns design and development of Navigation, Communications and Control systems for land and air platforms within a cross functional team at scale. Drives technical input to align project strategy with business goals across Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality Assurance. Applies CAD modeling and FEA tools to create mechanical models and drawings while adhering to MIL-STD-810 and J-STD-001 standards. Works on innovative projects with a focus on continuous improvement and potential AI-driven optimization.
What You'll Do7
- 1Build mechanical models and drawings using CAD tools for navigation, communications and control systems
- 2Design and analyze components with ANSYS FEA to ensure performance and reliability
- 3Collaborate with cross functional teams including other engineering, program management and manufacturing
- 4Lead complex projects and write technical papers/proposals to communicate solutions
- 5Apply government and industry standards to designs and manufacturing processes
- 6Identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
- 7Support model-based design and documentation for landed and airborne systems
Requirements6
- 1Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 3+ years
- 2U.S. citizenship and eligible for DoD secret security clearance
- 3Strong proficiency with CAD tools and creating mechanical models and drawings
- 4Proficient knowledge of FEA tools (ANSYS) and application understanding
- 5Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 and J-STD-001
- 6Knowledge of manufacturing/fabrication methods and government/industry standards
Salary Insight
$113 - $125k per year
