We seek a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to lead lifecycle engineering for advanced communication systems in Washington DC. What You'll Do11
- 1Develop and validate mechanical system designs using SolidWorks 3D CAD/CAM software
- 2Create comprehensive engineering documentation and manufacturable production drawings
- 3Perform tolerance analysis and material selection for complex assemblies
- 4Execute prototype build and validation testing procedures
- 5Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for mechanical failures
- 6Integrate mechanical components into existing communication platform infrastructures
- 7Maintain detailed project documentation throughout design phases
- 8Collaborate with fabrication teams to ensure proper assembly and installation
- 9Provide technical support to customers regarding mechanical system performance
- 10Drive continuous improvement initiatives for manufacturing processes
- 11Contribute to multi-disciplinary project planning and execution
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years experience
- 2Proven track record in full-lifecycle mechanical design and product development
- 3Expertise with SolidWorks 3D CAD/CAM and technical drawing standards
- 4Strong knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes including additive manufacturing
- 5Hands-on experience with mechanical testing and troubleshooting
- 6Active DoD security clearance with TS/SCI authorization
- 7Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in high-stress environments
- 8Excellent communication skills for customer and team interactions
- 9Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation for independent problem solving
- 10U.S. citizenship required for position
- 11Eligibility to obtain DoD security clearance confirmed
