Overview
As a Measure Technician, you'll own precise on-site measurements for kitchen refacing and remodeling, ensuring accuracy for material ordering and installation. You'll work directly with clients, capturing dimensions and creating detailed reports using KCD design software. This role sits between design and installation, requiring deep knowledge of cabinet construction, faceframe and frameless systems. You'll have the autonomy to manage your schedule and directly impact project success and client satisfaction.
What You'll Do7
- 1Measure existing kitchens with tape measures, lasers, and levels, capturing all dimensions for cabinets, countertops, and appliances.
- 2Document measurements in clear reports with floor plans, elevations, and annotated sketches using KCD design software.
- 3Build product lists for installation, ensuring all materials and accessories are accounted for.
- 4Confirm design selections and layout details with clients during in-home visits, maintaining a professional presence.
- 5Flag potential installation challenges early, such as structural issues or code concerns, to prevent rework.
- 6Ensure all measurements meet company accuracy standards, reducing errors and delays.
- 7Manage multiple appointments per day, staying organized and punctual.
Requirements7
- 12+ years in cabinetry, carpentry, or kitchen remodeling.
- 2Strong understanding of cabinet construction, faceframe and frameless systems, and refacing processes.
- 3High accuracy in measuring with tape measures, lasers, levels, and digital tools.
- 4Ability to read and interpret design plans, elevations, and technical drawings.
- 5Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
- 6Comfortable using tablets and measurement apps.
- 7Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
