What You'll Do8
- 1Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial doors, docks, and hardware using tools and equipment.
- 2Diagnose and fix door issues like broken springs, hinges, locks, and electrical components.
- 3Configure door hardware including locks, handles, closers, low-voltage, and access control systems.
- 4Ensure installed doors meet safety and building code regulations.
- 5Address customer inquiries, explain repair processes, and propose cost-effective solutions.
- 6Maintain accurate service records and reports for each visit.
- 7Resolve technical issues with doors efficiently and perform quality checks.
- 8Learn welding if you have the desire, with training provided.
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or equivalent.
- 23+ years in the commercial door service industry.
- 3Knowledge of various door types, brands, and hardware.
- 4Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
- 5Proficiency in math with fractions and reading a tape measure.
- 6Knowledge of safety regulations and adherence to protocols.
- 7Physically able to lift 50 lbs or more, climb ladders up to 20 feet, and work on knees.
- 8Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- 9Reliable, self-motivated, and computer literate.
- 10Valid driver's license and ability to pass drug, background, and motor vehicle checks.
