Overview

You will own preventive maintenance for automated door systems across the Vallejo, CA region, ensuring safety and reliability for commercial clients. Working within Allegion's Stanley Access Technologies team, you'll service automatic doors, glazing, and door frames at scale, covering 130 countries. You'll collaborate with a supportive team that values craftsmanship and continuous learning. Unlike other technician roles, this position offers full training for candidates without prior door experience, plus a clear path to AAADM Certification.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on automatic doors and related systems, inspecting, adjusting, cleaning, and calibrating to keep equipment in top condition.
  • 2Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support contract retention and identify upsell opportunities.
  • 3Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on-site, using blueprints and technical manuals to guide repairs.
  • 4Document service activities accurately, including parts used and time spent, to ensure proper billing and compliance.
  • 5Stay current on industry changes and new door technology to provide expert recommendations to customers.
  • 6Coordinate with dispatch to prioritize urgent service calls and manage your daily route efficiently.
  • 7Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while operating company vehicle and tools.
  • 8Assist in door frame installation and glass replacement when needed, ensuring precise alignment and secure fitting.
  • 9Train and mentor new technicians on best practices for automatic door maintenance and repair.
  • 10Support the team during peak seasons by handling additional service requests and emergency callouts.

Requirements10

  • 1High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2Valid state driver's license without restrictions.
  • 3Associate's degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial field preferred.
  • 4Prior experience in construction or electrical field preferred.
  • 5Prior experience servicing automatic doors, glazing, or installing door frames preferred.
  • 6Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • 7AAADM Certification preferred but not required; training provided.
  • 8Willingness to work onsite in the Vallejo, CA region and travel to customer sites.
  • 9Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • 10Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
