Overview

You will own targeted math intervention for K-8 students at Barber Preparatory Academy, using diagnostic assessments and MTSS frameworks to close gaps. You'll collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt instruction, boost confidence, and build math fluency. What You'll Do8

  • 1Design and deliver small-group math interventions using MTSS tiers to accelerate student mastery.
  • 2Analyze diagnostic assessment results to pinpoint student gaps and craft targeted action plans.
  • 3Confer with classroom teachers weekly to align intervention strategies with core math instruction.
  • 4Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices into daily lessons to engage diverse learners.
  • 5Track student progress with progress monitoring tools and adjust instruction based on data.
  • 6Lead family communication on student growth, sharing concrete strategies for math support at home.
  • 7Advise a caseload of students, supporting academic and social-emotional development.
  • 8Plan and co-lead school events and field trips that reinforce math learning beyond the classroom.

Requirements11

  • 1Bachelor's degree in education, mathematics, or related field.
  • 2Valid Michigan teaching certification: K-8 Math Endorsement (preferred) or K-5 all subjects / K-8 all subjects.
  • 32+ years delivering targeted math interventions and using student data to adjust instruction.
  • 4Strong knowledge of elementary and middle school math instructional best practices.
  • 5Familiarity with MTSS and RTI frameworks.
  • 6Track record of improving student achievement in math, as shown by assessment data.
  • 7Experience implementing math intervention programs like i-Ready or ST Math.
  • 8Proficiency with diagnostic assessments (e.g., NWEA MAP, AIMSweb) and progress monitoring tools.
  • 9Comfort in a growth-oriented environment with frequent observations and coaching.
  • 10Ability to pass federal and state background checks (FBI/BCI).
  • 11Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work with diverse families.
