Overview

You will own the academic intervention program at Marion P. Thomas Charter School, improving outcomes for at-risk students across K-12. You will design and deliver Tier 2 and 3 interventions in English Language Arts and Math, analyze assessment data, and coordinate instructional assistants. You will collaborate with classroom teachers and parents to align intervention with core instruction. What You'll Do12

  • 1Design Tier 2 and 3 intervention lessons to accelerate student learning and provide direct instruction to identified students.
  • 2Collaborate with school leaders and teachers to implement the school-based academic intervention model.
  • 3Provide professional development for certified and classified staff on intervention strategies and materials.
  • 4Support the development and implementation of the 90-day action plan.
  • 5Coordinate instructional assistants for reading and math interventions.
  • 6Help teachers develop classroom-based, developmentally appropriate interventions for individual and groups of children.
  • 7Employ a variety of instructional techniques and performance assessments to guide learning toward curriculum goals.
  • 8Implement and track all Tier 3 support plans and progress for identified students.
  • 9Prepare progress-monitoring data and participate in school professional learning communities.
  • 10Communicate with classroom teachers about alignment between classroom instruction and intervention.
  • 11Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide progress reports as required.
  • 12Build effective relationships with parents and students through regular communication and involvement in school events.

Requirements8

  • 1Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 2Master's Degree preferred.
  • 3New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS).
  • 4Knowledge and experience implementing Response to Intervention (RTI).
  • 5Knowledge and experience in the development and evaluation of academic interventions.
  • 6Demonstrated ability to analyze student assessment data to inform instruction.
  • 7Experience providingpush-in and pull-out interventions in English Language Arts and Math.
  • 8Strong collaboration and communication skills with teachers, parents, and administrators.
