Materials Coordinator Job in Dallas, TX | Crown Technical Systems
Overview
As a Materials Coordinator, you will own material flow across production departments at our Dallas facility, coordinating with buyers and planners to keep 2nd shift lines moving. You will work inside our ERP system to track deliveries, resolve shortages, and communicate status to project and production managers. This role sits on a small, high-impact team within Crown Technical Systems, a leader in power distribution and protection systems. Your 90-day goal: eliminate material shortages that stall assembly and cut downtime in half.
What You'll Do8
- 1Coordinate with Buyers and Planners to match material arrivals to production schedules, ensuring assembly lines never starve.
- 2Chase vendors and buyers for lead times and tracking info, then align delivery dates with the build plan.
- 3Resolve short items by working with Purchasing and Engineering to replace parts or adjust specs within 48 hours.
- 4Update material status and ETAs in the ERP system so planners see real-time inventory health.
- 5Flag potential shortages to Project Managers and Production Managers before they impact builds.
- 6Expedite critical materials through suppliers and internal teams to hit tight deadlines.
- 7Audit incoming materials against purchase orders to catch mismatches early.
- 8Support cycle counts and inventory reconciliation to keep ERP data accurate.
Requirements10
- 11+ years in planning, customer service, production, inventory, logistics, or expediting.
- 2High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
- 4Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
- 5Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems like SAP or Oracle preferred.
- 6Typing speed of 120 WPM preferred.
- 7Bilingual skills a plus.
- 8Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- 9Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 10Physical ability to stand, walk, and sit at a desk, plus wear PPE (gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, ear protection) on the floor.
